History of Madrino
Madrino Afrino and Merino stud's are run by Evan and Ruth Maddock and family. The stud is based at Mukinbudin, 296 kilometres north-east of Perth in the north eastern wheatbelt.

The climate is moderate with an average rainfall of 300mm. Summers are dry and hot with temperatures ranging from 18 degrees celsius to 45 degrees celsius.

The Maddock family initially started the Dandanning Merino stud in 1947, followed by a Poll Merino stud in 1955.
The stud was split between brothers in 1964 when Evan's father registered the Madrino stud. The entire Dandanning stud flock was then purchased in 1985.

Afrinos were introduced in December 2003 with the importation of frozen embryos from South Africa.
